This project aimed to teach us how to build an affinity with a material and fully understand the making /manufacturing process.
The ceramic slip casting process is a unique and cost effective way to manufacture one offs to a million artefacts. This flexibility allows unusual scope for the designer who is usually restricted by the decision between product quantities and manufacturing process. I've designed a chop stick holder for restaurants, a new and fun way to display chopsticks, on either side you can put napkin, spoons or menus. I came up with numerous ways to display chopsticks in a new way, a way that it's sophisticated and beautiful. The container can contain at least 4 pairs of chopsticks at a time. |
