Fragments of Hong Kong is a series of illustrations aim to capture remnants of Hong Kong's culture and the beauty of the city.
As you may or may not have heard that Hong Kong is experiencing rapid urban development for years, buildings get torn down and new one gets built every 4-6 months. Each time I went back to Hong Kong I don't recognise some of the neighbourhoods anymore, shops that's been there for years where I use to visit so regularly are no longer there. Some of these places have a place in our heart that sadly is no longer there. Although I may not be able to stop the urban development at once, I hope to use my art to document and record the culture, places, beauty of this city. A place where we all once and still calls home.
Some of these illustrations used the lovely photos taken by Hong Kong Reminiscence (instagram @hkreminiscence) as reference, the composition and effects they create is just amazing so please do give them a follow!
More illustrations to come! Hope to slowly turn them into prints for everyone to purchase, would really appreciate if you give me a follow on instagram below :)
